• Kenneth Khumalo – The Dictator Lwandle’s father is a hardworking factory worker and church treasurer aiming for a deaconship. Faced with imminent factory layoffs, Kenneth runs his home with an iron fist. He is fiercely opposed to Lwandle using her God-given talent to sing what he considers "the devil’s music."

The Wildcard Next Door

• Democracy Zondo – The Ticking Time Bomb Outside the Khumalo walls is Democracy, a volatile lone wolf running drugs across the streets of Umlazi. Fueled by anger over his father’s mysterious death following a 2010 cash-in-transit heist, he is a disaster waiting to happen.

  The Twist: In a bid to "tame" his restless rage, a figure from his father's dark past steps in to channel Democracy's anger away from the streets and into the boxing ring.
