Papi’s Masterclass

If there is one thing we know about Papi, it is that he doesn’t stay down for long. He is a man driven by survival, strategy, and an absolute refusal to be embarrassed by anyone—especially the Dhlomos.

Papi starts off with his fury at Busani growing darker by the minute after a humiliating encounter at the funeral. But the second Vera posts his bail, Papi hits the ground running. There is no time for self-reflection; he immediately calls in a few favours from his hijacking contacts to order a quick, final hit on Busani. For Papi, eliminating her isn’t just revenge—it’s a tactical move to clear the throne.

The Ultimate Pivot

However, plans change fast in this world. As the first hijacking hit fails, and a furious Papi is ready to order round two. But everything changes when Basi bursts in with a game-changing piece of intel overheard from Kopano: Thabang didn't leave the dealership to Busani. He left the entire Dhlomo empire to Bobby.

In an instant, Papi's rage melts into pure excitement. Why waste time on a dangerous hit when a much easier opportunity has just presented itself? Busani no longer matters. Bobby is the new king, and more importantly, Bobby is:

  • Impressionable
  • Hungry for validation
  • Easy to manipulate

Setting the Trap

Papi wastes absolutely no time putting his new strategy into action. He breezes into the dealership like a township godfather, armed with a bottle of single malt whisky and cigars.

Bobby is already having second thoughts about his over-the-top luxury relaunch, but Papi swoops in to smother every single doubt. He wraps Bobby in a bear hug, strokes his ego like a professional pianist, and convinces him that he is a visionary hero fulfilling his destiny. By playing on Bobby’s deep insecurities, Papi successfully coaxes him right back into making risky, expensive business moves.

Papi promises to stand by Bobby's side the whole way, but we know the truth: the trap is officially set, and Bobby has walked straight into it. Papi is officially holding the strings.
