Barbershop

Get ready for big laughs, lively debates and a whole lot of drama in Barbershop, the comedy starring Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Eve and Anthony Anderson.

Calvin Palmer (Ice Cube) has inherited his late father’s barbershop on the South Side of Chicago, but keeping the family business afloat is proving to be a struggle. Frustrated by the financial pressure and dreaming of bigger opportunities, Calvin makes a life-changing decision to sell the shop to Lester Wallace (Keith David), a shady loan shark with plans that could destroy everything the business stands for.

However, as Calvin spends the day working alongside his colourful team of barbers, he begins to realise that the shop is far more than a place to get a fresh haircut. It is the heart of the neighbourhood, where customers exchange gossip, debate everything from politics to relationships, and find a sense of belonging.

From Eddie’s outspoken opinions to the tension between the barbers and their complicated personal lives, the shop is never short of entertainment. Meanwhile, two bumbling thieves are dealing with a stolen ATM, adding another layer of chaos to an already eventful day.

As Calvin realises the true value of his family’s legacy, he must find a way to reverse the deal before it is too late. Can he save the barbershop, or has he made the biggest mistake of his life?

Tune in to eMovies on Sunday at 8PM for a comedy packed with unforgettable characters, sharp humour and a powerful reminder of the importance of community.
