Emotions run high in House of Zwide as the family mourns the loss of Shoki
Johannesburg, 23 July – The hit drama series House of Zwide is set to reach peak emotion as the Zwides mourn the tragic passing of Shoki, portrayed by the talented Shalate Sekhabi. As family and friends struggle through grief and guilt, it’s beyond doubt that the days leading up to the funeral service on Friday, 25 July 2025, will be a heart-wrenching journey.
Nomsa, played with depth and sensitivity by Lwazilubanzi Mthembu, is grappling with the devastating loss of her sister, Shoki. And her grief is compounded by her belief that Nkosi Zwide, (Wanda Zuma), is responsible for the accident that claimed Shoki's life. Nkosi finds himself in a moral dilemma, torn between taking the blame or stepping away from the funeral altogether. The question remains: Is he ready to say goodbye to his soulmate, or is he succumbing to Nomsa's guilt-tripping?
The plot thickens as suspicions arise among the characters. Ona and Faith begin to question Bra Vusi, (Khaya Mthembu), who comes to express his condolences to the Zwides. Will their investigation uncover the truth behind the accident?
As the family gathers to honour Shoki’s memory, Msizi confronts his own guilt, and The Collective finds solace in reminiscing about the vibrant life that was so suddenly lost. This poignant story of relationships in the wake of tragedy promises to resonate deeply with viewers.
