Scandal! unveils new characters in an explosive kidnapping twist
Johannesburg, South Africa — Scandal! is turning up the drama with the introduction of two explosive new characters set to shake up the streets of Newtown. Award-winning actor Tiisetso Thoka joins the cast as Bruno, alongside the dynamic Moliehi Didi Mokobane as Minky, a couple whose dangerous scheme brings tension, suspense, and unexpected deception to the hit e.tv soapie.
Bruno and Minky arrive on screen with a bold agenda, securing a ransom from Minky’s husband, Desmond Masemola. In a chaotic twist, the duo stages a fake kidnapping, with Bruno pretending to hold Minky hostage while the pair hides out at the Level Up Apartments owned by fan-favourites Mdala and Tlhogi, which becomes ground zero for a storyline layered with manipulation, secrets, and moral dilemmas.
Things reach a boiling point when Tlhogi, known for her strong instinct and compassion, steps in after suspecting that Minky might be a victim of abuse. But her attempt to protect Minky unravels into a shocking discovery, the couple is not running from violence, but running a calculated ransom plot that could bring serious consequences for everyone involved.
CHARACTER BIO:
BRUNO
Bruno is Minky’s devoted but naive lover, completely loyal and willing to do anything for her. As her plans against Desmond escalate, he becomes her muscle, unaware of the consequences. When chaos ensues, his desperate actions lead to Larona’s kidnapping and their plans. In the end, his blind loyalty lands him in jail beside Minky, confronting the reality that his love destroyed them both.
MINKY MASEMOLA
Minky, a manipulative socialite, plots to take down her wealthy husband, Desmond Masemola, while hiding with her lover. Her scheme unravels when Tlhogi interferes, leading to the kidnapping of Vuvu’s daughter, Larona. As chaos ensues, Minky and her accomplice, Bruno, end up in prison, facing the consequences of her deceptions.
