eMedia Bursary Programme 2025 (Gauteng)

This programme provides financial support to deserving students passionate about pursuing a career in the Media industry.

Eligible Fields of Study:

  • Electronic Media
  • Animation
  • Graphic Design
  • Television Production
  • Radio Production
  • Film & Television
  • Marketing
  • Media Research
  • Digital Media Technology
  • Sound Engineering
  • Any Film and Television-related qualification

 

Exclusions:
Students enrolled to study Performing Arts / Acting / Music and Dance will not be eligible.

 

Required Supporting Documents:
Applicants must submit the following mandatory documents:

  1. A certified copy of a South African Identity Document
  2. Statement of results or National Senior Certificate (NSC)
  3. Proof of acceptance from a South African university
  4. Breakdown of annual academic fees
  5. Most recent payslip(s), letter(s) of employment, and the latest three months' bank statements (not older than three months) for each parent or guardian
  6. If receiving other private or public bursary funding, a commitment letter stating the funding source and coverage amount

NOTE: Applications received without all required supporting documents will not be considered.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Combined household income must be less than R600,000 per annum.

 

Application Process:

  • Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.
  • Bursaries will be awarded at the sole discretion of the eMedia Group.
  • All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications upon completion of the recruitment process.

Requirements

Who Can Apply?

To qualify for a full-time bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 17 and 35 years old.
  • Have achieved an average of 65% or higher in high school.
  • Have been accepted (or provisionally accepted) to a South African university for the 2025 academic year.
  • Be enrolled in a full-time course of study.
