Mbali’s Career is threatened

In the heart of Newlands East is Durban General, the hospital every doctor wants to practice in and the hospital every patient wants to be treated at.

But what does it take to keep such a sterling record at a public hospital? And when you dedicate your life to fighting death, what is the personal cost?

When Mbali arrives at Durban General Hospital, she is thrown into a high stakes world of life and death, which will test her to her very core.

On arrival at the hospital, Mbali assists in a life and death surgery that goes bad, resulting in the death of an MEC. This throws the hospital, and more importantly, Mbali and the surgeon, she was assisting Dr. Lindelani Zulu, into the middle of an investigation which threatens to derail her career before it has even begun.

Meanwhile, the proximity to Dr. Zulu results in further intimacy. It strengthens their undeniable chemistry, which threatens to break everything Mbali has built back home, with the fiancé who put her through medical school.

Durban General follows the trials, tribulations, triumphs, heartbreaks, betrayals, and bonds experienced by Mbali, the staff of Durban General and the patients who come through their doors looking for help, refuge and health.
