Isiphetho - Constance

When we meet Connie, she is telling others what to do at the chisa nyama. Her favourite pastime is bossing people around, especially Portia, who hates it. She is controlling with everyone but the one person she can’t control is Portia. 

The mother and daughter love each other very much but they completely disagree when it comes to Portia’s ways. Connie constantly saves Portia from herself, but that never stops her. Trouble soon arises when Connie hears that the girls want to reopen the restaurant and she won’t have it. She blocks the girls when they need funding, thinking this will discourage them, but it doesn’t. 

This makes her even more angry, as her siblings are not even supporting her in shutting the whole thing down. She decides to go low and sabotage the girls at every turn, calling inspectors and using Justice, whom she can see is not keen on this reopening either. She is the villain to the girls in the first quarter, not giving up until she indirectly severs the ties between the girls, who wonder if there’s any point in still trying.
