TURKWOOD TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR COMPETITION:

ACCEPTANCE

  1. I agree and undertake that I shall be bound by and comply with the terms and conditions for entry to the eExtra Turkwood Competition (hereinafter referred to as “the Competition”). I acknowledge that if I fail to comply with the terms and conditions of entry, then my entry shall not be eligible and be disqualified from the Competition. Whether there has been a failure to comply with these terms and conditions shall be decided in the competition organiser’s (e.tv) sole discretion, and shall be final and binding upon any potential entrant/entrant.

 

  1. The Promoter of the Competition is e.tv and any of its duly authorised representatives (hereinafter referred to as “e.tv”).

 

  1. It is a condition that the potential entrant must reside in South Africa and be over the age of 18 and be able to provide proof of this in the form of an Identity Document.

 

  1. The Promoter shall be entitled at their sole discretion to declare that any entry is not to be entered for the Competition and is disqualified. In such event the Promoter shall not be obliged to provide a reason for their decision nor shall they be liable for any damages in law.

 

  1. The Promoter may at any time decide to change, cancel, amend, vary, delete, add to, and/or otherwise alter the terms and conditions of entry, the prizes and/or any other part of the Competition. The Promoter shall not be required to send a separate notification to each Entrant who has and/or may enter the Competition.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  1. Any person who is an employee of any of the Promoter and/or any other agent, promoter and/or other person connected with the Competition and/or a member of their family shall not be allowed to enter the Competition and shall be ineligible to participate. If any such person should enter then they will be automatically disqualified.

 

  1. It is a condition that the person must be a resident of the Republic of South Africa and Eighteen/18 years of age or older. The person must have a valid passport or South African Identity document or card to prove that they are over the age of 18, which must be submitted to e.tv upon being informed that they are a winner.

 

  1. All entries must be original, and not abusive, defamatory, offensive, derogatory, degrading and/or otherwise not acceptable due to the nature of the material submitted.

 

  1. The Promoter may in their sole discretion decide that any entry is not eligible due to the nature of the content of the entry and may disqualify a person from the Competition and any such future events.

 

  1. If there are unfair/automatic entry practises used in the Promoter’ discretion then the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify such entries.

 

  1. All decisions of the Promoter shall be final and binding.

 

  1. Please note that there is no direct entry cost associated with the Competition (except the cost of an internet connection in order to take steps in order to submit the entry), and that any costs incurred by a potential entrant are the entrant’s personal responsibility.

 

  1. All entries must be completed within the competition start and end date.

 

  1. By participating in the Competition, you are confirming your acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the Competition Period, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for the cost and/or charges incurred in respect of any entries.

 

  1. The Promoter reserve the right at their sole discretion to withdraw and/or substitute any prize at any time for any reason.

 

  1. The Promoter may at any time decide to change, cancel, amend, vary, delete, add to, and/or otherwise alter the terms and conditions of entry.

 

PRIZE(S) AND DURATION OF COMPETITION

  1. The prize(s) shall consist of: An invitation to an exclusive viewing party in Cape Town on 17 May 2023. There will be a maximum of 20 (twenty) winners in total.

 

  1. Flights (excluding transport to airport) and accommodation are included in the prize if you are not ordinarily residing in the Western Cape at the time of winning. Proof of ordinary residence must be provided in the form of utility bills and an affidavit to prove ordinary residence in the event of an individual winning and claiming not to be ordinarily resident in the Western Cape).

 

  1. If you do not ordinarily reside in the Western Cape at the time of winning, return flights (to and from your province) shall be provided as part of the prize.

 

  1. If you do not ordinarily reside in the Western Cape at the time of winning, the Promoter will provide 1 (one) night of accommodation to a 4 (four) star hotel room for one person in Cape Town at a venue to be determined by the Promoter (in the Promoter’s sole discretion). Breakfast shall be included.

 

  1. The Competition starts on the 28 April 2023 and ends at midnight on 11 May 2023.

 

  1. Please note that there is no entry cost, all costs incurred by a potential entrant are the entrant’s personal responsibility.

 

  1. By participating in the Competition, you are confirming your acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.

 

  1. All entries must be completed within the competition start and end date.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by e.tv for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the Competition Period, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline.

  1. The prize can only be awarded and/or taken by the person whose name is provided at the time of prize confirmation of the Competition. There is no alternate prize or cash available as an alternative to any prize should the prize winner not want the awarded prize, nor is the Promoter obliged to exchange and/or transfer any prize to another person.

 

  1. By entering this competition, entrants agree that they will be bound by these terms and conditions as well as the General Competition Rules.

 

  1. TO ENTER THE COMPETITION: 

 

  1. To enter the competition:  you will need to like and follow any of our social media pages (include the social media pages here).  Thereafter the entrant must send a shout-out video or message on social media, around your favourite Turkwood memory/show or scene from a show and tag @KuiertydOpenview (Facebook) @etvSA (Facebook) @etvonline  (Instagram) e.tv_za (Tiktok)

 

  1. By participating in the Competition, you are confirming your acceptance of these terms and conditions of entry.

 

  1. All entries must be completed within the competition start and end date.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the Competition Period, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline.

 

  1. By participating in the Competition and submitting an entry, you acknowledge and agree that your entry and/or video or post may be shared by e.tv on social media. The sharing of a video online by the Promoter, does not signify that a participant has won the Competition.    

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the deadlines, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline and/or are ineligible.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for the cost and/or charges incurred in respect of any entries.

 

SELECTION OF WINNERS:

 

  1. The winner will be notified by the Promoter, within 72 hours from the competition closing date. The winner will be contacted by e.tv and they will be verified. The winner will be notified on social media within (72) hours of the competition closing date by the Promoter. The Promoter can decide at its sole discretion that the timescale for notification needs to be extended for any reason.

 

  1. The decision made as to the winners of the Competition shall be final. 

 

  1. No entrant can be awarded more than one prize per competition. Should one entrant be selected more than once a new winner will be automatically selected. 

 

  1. Any prize has to be accepted and taken by the person who is awarded the prize. The prize winner has 48 hours to respond from the first contact, thereafter the Promoter may contact a new winner and award this prize solely to the new winner. 

 

  1. The prize can only be awarded and/or taken by the person whose name is provided at the time of prize confirmation of the Competition.

 

PERSONAL INFORMATION

 

47.         Winners must agree to being recorded and photographed at the Viewing Party in Cape Town and the content might be used on our social media and on-air platforms.

 

48.         All entrants hereby consent to be processing their personal information for the purpose of this Competition. The personal details information which have been submitted for the Competition will be held by e.tv. This information will only be shared with third parties involved with the Competition for the administration of the Competition and/or the supply and delivery of the prizes. The personal details will only be held for 24 months (2 years) from date of competition entry and will then be destroyed and/or deleted. Should an entrant wish to have their personal information amended or deleted they should contact e.tv.

 

CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY AND PRIZES:

49.         The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to withdraw and/or substitute any prize at any time for any reason. The Promoter may replace and/or substitute any prize with any products, goods, services, and/or cash that it decides is appropriate in the circumstances.

50.         The Promoter shall not be required to send a separate notification to each person who has and/or may enter the Competition.

 

FORCE MAJEURE AND LAW

  1. Where for any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Competition cannot be carried out and/or completed as planned and/or advertised, then the Promoter reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time and in such event shall not be liable to any person for any reason who may have entered the Competition.

 

  1. The terms and conditions of this Competition shall be subject to the Laws of The Republic of South Africa.

 

ASSIGNMENT AND MORAL RIGHTS

 

  1. It is a condition of entry that the person entering the Competition agrees and undertakes to assign to the Promoter the sole and exclusive intellectual property rights including copyright whether in existence now and/or created in the future and any other rights in all media throughout the world and universe in all the material entered for the Competition (except their personal details) for the full period of copyright and any extensions and/or renewals and in perpetuity.

 

  1. The Promoter shall have the right to assign, licence and/or commercially exploit the material in any form and the person shall not be entitled to receive any sums. No rights of any nature shall be retained by the person who entered the Competition.

 

  1. The person who entered the Competition waives the right to be identified as the author of the material submitted for the Competition. It is agreed that the Promoter may be credited as the copyright owner and may assign, licence and/or commercially exploit the material in any form and the person shall not be entitled to receive any sums.

 

PUBLICITY

  1. The winner shall potentially have their names and prize published on the Promoter’ platforms. All entrants agree to the following publicity and marketing: Online/social media platforms/ on air and television platforms. All entrants agree to share their names and/or photographs through the following publicity and marketing platforms: the Promoter and its affiliated companies online/social media platforms/ on air and television platforms. The entrant acknowledges that their entry and/or video or post may be shared by the Promoter on social media and television.
