Imbewu - Up in Flames

In the wake of the discovery of gas in Umbumbulu, Phakade and Zithulele learn that they are sitting on land worth R6 billion.

The problem is that this gas lies on sacred land… some of it is where people have buried their loved ones.

Phakade has sole rights to the land but he refuses to allow Zithulele to mine on it.

Meanwhile, rumours of Phakade allowing for the land to be mined have been circulating.

As a result, the community will riot to burn down Phakade’s church, bringing grief to the Shongololo family.

This is a house on fire, where family members can’t even recognize each other, charged with arson, guilty of deceit, and stricken with grief to no end.
