House of Zwide Matric Dance Competition – Terms & Conditions

Acceptance

  1. I agree and undertake that I shall be bound by and comply with the terms and conditions for entry to the House of Zwide (hereinafter referred to collectively as “e”) matric dance Competition. That in the event that I fail to comply with the terms and conditions of entry for any reason that my entry shall not be eligible and shall be disqualified from the Competition. Whether there has been a failure to comply with these terms and conditions shall be decided in e’s sole discretion, and shall be final and binding upon any potential entrant.

 

  1. The Promoter of the Competition is e and any of its duly authorised representatives.

 

 

  1. It is a condition that the potential entrant must reside in the Johannesburg metropolitan area. The potential entrant must be able to provide proof of residence through a utility bill or suitable affidavit (for example, if the potential entrant is living with a person paying the utility bill of the residence, the person paying the utility bill must provide the potential entrant with an affidavit stating that the potential entrant lives with the owner in the premises. Alternatively, if the potential entrant is renting a premises within the Johannesburg area then they must provide suitable proof of this arrangement to the promoter, in the form of a lease agreement; or other suitable proof that they live in the premises. For any person under the age of 18, ensure that a parent / guardian over the age of 18 enters for you.

 

 

 

 

  1. e shall be entitled at its sole discretion to declare that any entry is not to be entered for the Competition and is disqualified. In such event e shall not be obliged to the person who has entered of their disqualification nor shall it be obliged to provide a reason for its decision nor shall it be liable for any damages in law.

 

  1. e may at any time decide to change, cancel, amend, vary, delete, add to, and/or otherwise alter the terms and conditions of entry, the prizes and/or any other part of the Competition. e shall not be required to send a separate notification to each person who has and/or may enter the Competition. It shall be sufficient that details shall be available directly to the prize winners.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

Any person who is an employee of any of the following companies eMedia Investments/e.tv, and/or any other agent, promoter and/or other person connected with the Competition and/or a member of their family shall not be allowed to enter the Competition and shall be ineligible to participate. If any such person should enter then they will be automatically disqualified.
  3. e shall be entitled at its sole discretion to declare that any entry is not to be entered for the House of Zwide Matric Dance Competition and in such event e shall not be obliged to the person who has entered of their disqualification nor shall it be obliged to provide a reason for its decision.
  4. All decisions of e shall be final and e shall not enter into any correspondence, dialogue and/or otherwise with any person regarding any aspect of the Competition.
  5. All entries must be original, and not abusive, defamatory, offensive, derogatory, degrading and/or otherwise not acceptable due to the nature of the material submitted.
  6. e may at its sole discretion decide that any entry is not eligible due to the nature of the content of the entry and may disqualify a person from the Competition and any such future events.
  1. All decisions of eMedia Investments/e.tv shall be final and binding and e shall not enter into any correspondence, dialogue and/or otherwise with any person regarding any aspect of the Competition.

Prize(s) and Duration of Competition

  1. The prize(s) shall consist of:
    • A Matric Dance outfit to be utilized at their Matric Dance event in 2022

 

  1. The Competition starts on the 29th September 2022 and ends at midnight on the 14th October 2022

 

  1. The competition is comprises of:- 

10.1 To enter the competition, you will need to watch House of Zwide Mondays – Fridays at 7PM on e.tv on Openview on channel 104 or on DSTV DSTV channel 195

 The potential entrant will thereafter have to share the post on stories and tag both pages with the correct answer. There shall be no response or acknowledgment to a participant entering the competition.

Entries will only be accepted through Instagram (social Media). The more you enter, the higher chances you have of winning.

All costs incurred by you to enter are your personal responsibility. There are no refunds for any entries, which are received by e.tv which are ineligible and/or after the deadline."

10.2  Viewers entering the competition would need to answer the question asked in order to stand chance to win. 

 

10.3     No responsibility can be accepted by e for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the deadlines, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline

10.4    e shall not be liable for any reason to any person who may enter the Competition and each person enters at their own risk.

 

Competition Regions: 

-        Gauteng Only

  1. There is no cost to enter the competition.

 

  1. By participating in the competition, you are confirming your acceptance of the terms and conditions of entry. All entries must be completed by the deadline. Participants will be chosen through a random selection. 
  2. No responsibility can be accepted by e for any entries which are incomplete, are delayed beyond the deadlines, fail to arrive, are illegible, do not arrive and/or for any other reason are not received by the deadline and/or are ineligible.

 

  1. No responsibility can be accepted by e for the cost and/or charges incurred in respect of any entries. e shall not be liable for any reason to any person who may enter the Competition and each person enters at their own risk and cost.

 

  1. An independent external organisation will verify all eligible entries and the winners will be randomly selected. The winning entries will be selected by an independent external organisation such as a law firm; the name of which can be made available upon request; and winners will be announced by eMedia Investments/e.tv from Monday 3 October 2022 till Friday, 14 October 2022. Winners will be randomly selected. The winners will be contacted by e.tv from Monday 3rd October 2022 till Friday, 21 October 2022 and they will be verified.

 

  1. The decision made by the independent external organisation as to the winners of the Competition shall be final. 

 

  1. No entrant can be awarded more than one prize per competition  . Should one entrant be randomly selected more than once a new winner will be automatically selected. 

 

  1. The winners will be notified telephonically within (48) hours of the competition closing date by eMedia Investments/e.tv or the independent external organisation and eMedia Investments/e.tv. e.TV can decide at its sole discretion that the timescale for notification needs to be extended for any reason.

 

  1. Any prize has to be accepted and taken by the person who is awarded the prize. The prize winner has 48 hours to respond from the first contact, thereafter eMedia Investments/e.tv may contact a new winner and award this prize solely to the new winner. 

 

  1. The prize can only be awarded and/or taken by the person whose name is provided at the time of prize confirmation of the Competition. There is no alternate prize or cash available as an alternative to any prize should the prize winner not want the awarded prize, nor is eMedia Investments/e.tv obliged to exchange and/or transfer any prize to another person.

 

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions of Entry and Prizes

  1. e reserves the right at its sole discretion to withdraw and/or substitute any prize at any time for any reason. e may replace and/or substitute any prize with any products, goods, services and/or cash which it decides is appropriate in the circumstances.

 

  1. e may at any time decide to change, cancel, amend, vary, delete, add to, and/or otherwise alter the terms and conditions of entry, the prizes and/or any other part of the Competition. e shall not be required to send a separate notification to each person who has and/or may enter the Competition. It shall be sufficient that details shall be available on the social media platforms and telephonically.

 

  1. e.tv shall be entitled at its sole discretion to declare that any entry is not to be entered for the Competition. In such event e.tv shall not be obliged to the person who has entered of their disqualification, nor shall it be obliged to provide a reason for its decision nor shall it be liable for any damages in law.

 

  1. Whether an entry is valid will be decided solely in e.tv’s discretion. No responsibility can be accepted by e.tv for any entries which are incomplete or not received by the deadline. e.tv shall not be liable for any reason to any person who may enter the Competition and each person enters at their own risk and cost.

 

Personal Information

 

  1. All entrants hereby consent to e processing their personal information for the purpose of this Competition. The personal details information which have been submitted for the Competition will be held by e. This information will only be shared with third parties involved with the Competition for the administration of the Competition and/or the supply and delivery of the prizes. The personal details will only be held for 24 months (2 years) from date of competition entry and will then be destroyed and/or deleted. Should an entrant wish to have their personal information amended or deleted they should contact e.

Force Majeure and Law

  1. Where for any reason beyond the reasonable control of e the Competition cannot be carried out and/or completed as planned and/or advertised, then e reserves the right to cancel the competition at any time and in such event shall not be liable to any person for any reason who may have entered the  Competition. The total liability if any such be the cost of the postage, email, and/or text, which in any event shall be the participant’s responsibility.
  2. The terms and conditions of this Competition shall be subject to the Laws of The Republic of South Africa.

Publicity

Winners shall have their names and prizes published on eMedia Investments/e.tv and e digital platforms.
