Two Eastern Cape Universities are encouraging students to complete their 2020 academic year from home via online platforms.

This comes after dozens of them tested positive for COVID-19 last year.

The latest report from Ombudsman for Banking Services has revealed that more than 7 700 formal cases were opened by consumers against their banks last year. Out of the five banks, FNB had the most complaints with 2 197 cases opened against it.
This is an increase of 49 percent when compared to 2019. ABSA is the only bank that saw a decline in the number of grievances. The ombudsman also says it has recovered and refunded R16 million to consumers over the past year. SA Banking Ombud Reana Steyn says these complaints were driven by the COVID-19 pandemic, debt stress and fraud.

A one of a kind vaccine freezer, that can store vials at ultra-low temperatures,
was launched in Johannesburg on Monday. The prototype storage container,
has been developed by Renergen, a South African natural gas company.
The container has been designed, to keep COVID-19 vaccines ultra-cold for up to 30 days,
and can store up to 6000 doses.

Well, over 200 people, believed to be Shallcross residents, gathered outside Chatsmed Hospital in Durban this afternoon, to mourn the death of Teddy Mafia. The alleged drug lord was shot outside his house and later died in hospital. In response, residents allegedly took the law into their own hands, setting alight and decapitated two men suspected of the shooting. Police spokesperson Jay Naicker gave us an update on the triple murder investigation.
