Glen Snyman, a teacher and founder of People Against Race Classification,
is reportedly facing disciplinary action, for claiming to be African, rather than 'coloured'.
A few years ago, he allegedly identified as African, on an application for a school principal position, a job he didn’t get. Last month he received a summons from the provincial education department to attend a disciplinary hearing. Snyman declined our request for comment saying the matter is still pending. The Basic Education Department is sticking to its guns.
It will be approaching cabinet to allow schools to lower the minimum social distancing requirements at schools from one meter to a half meter. On Thursday we spoke to Naptosa’s Executive Director Basil Manuel and we started by asking him if unions had been consulted regarding this proposal.

The violent behaviour of a group of men, believed to be taxi drivers, was caught on camera today. A video of three men attacking a driver on the N2 highway in Cape Town, went viral.
A case has been opened at the Athlone police station after the driver was boxed in by several taxis. In the clip, the mother of the man being beaten up by the drivers, can be seen trying to stop the fight.

Thousands of taxi commuters in Gauteng were left stranded on Wednesday morning.

This comes as the National Taxi Association embarked on a strike.

The association wants government to fast-track COVID-19 relief fund payouts.

A commission of inquiry into taxi violence in Gauteng has found that the taxi industry is a law unto themselves.
