Glen Snyman, a teacher and founder of People Against Race Classification,
is reportedly facing disciplinary action, for claiming to be African, rather than 'coloured'.
A few years ago, he allegedly identified as African, on an application for a school principal position, a job he didn’t get. Last month he received a summons from the provincial education department to attend a disciplinary hearing. Snyman declined our request for comment saying the matter is still pending. We spoke to Pierre de Vos, a Constitutional Law expert, about race classification in South Africa.
