On Thursday, e.tv news & sport exclusively reported on a Johannesburg woman who was stabbed multiple times, while on her way to deliver food parcels near Kempton Park.

When the woman tried to open a case, the police told her it would be a waste of time.

National police spokesperson, Vishnu Naidoo expressed his outrage over the officers' conduct and promised that the matter would be looked into.

An assault case has since been opened and the officers involved are now the subject of a disciplinary investigation.

To discuss this, we spoke to the hospital’s Head of Paediatrics, Professor Sithembiso Velaphi.

We also spoke to Professor Haroon Saloojee, from Wits University’s Paediatrics and Health Department, about the scientific data behind the decision to open schools.
