Nosipho Nkantini, a nurse in the public sector, was six months pregnant when she contracted COVID-19 at the end of December. Nkantini suffered severe symptoms, and was transferred to Netcare N1 City in Cape Town. She lost consciousness and was placed on a ventilator. When she woke up days later, she was told that her baby boy, Oyena had been delivered by emergency C-section. Still disorientated, she left the hospital and while recovering at home, convinced herself that the baby had died. Three weeks later, there was a knock at her door. Nosipho Nkantini joined us to tell us what happened next.
