Ethan Hunt and his IMF team, along with some familiar allies, race against time after a mission gone wrong.

Blamed for a terrorist attack on the Kremlin, Ethan Hunt and the entire IMF agency are disavowed by the U.S. government, while the president initiates the Ghost Protocol. Forced to go "off the grid", left without resources or backup, Hunt must somehow clear the agency's name and prevent another attack. Complicating matters even more, Ethan must undertake the impossible mission with a group of fellow IMF fugitives whose actual motives are suspect.

With the IMF now disbanded and Ethan Hunt out in the cold, a new threat, called the Syndicate, soon emerges. The Syndicate is a network of highly skilled operatives who are dedicated to establishing a new world order via an escalating series of terrorist attacks. Faced with what may be the most impossible mission yet, Ethan gathers his team and joins forces with Ilsa Faust, a disavowed British agent who may or may not be a member of this deadly rogue nation.

A covert mission collapses in minutes, leaving Ethan Hunt as the only survivor. The organisation he serves believes he is responsible for betraying his team and leaking classified information. Cut off from support, Ethan must uncover the truth while avoiding agents sent to bring him in.

He moves through cities, safe houses, and hidden channels to track the real mole. Each encounter forces him to think faster and trust fewer people. He recruits a small, skilled team willing to take risks that the agency cannot sanction. Their plan requires precision, deception, and steady nerves as they race to prevent more secrets from falling into dangerous hands.

As Ethan closes in on the truth, the danger surrounding him intensifies. Systems he once relied on are now turned against him. People he considered allies become obstacles. The mission becomes a test of loyalty and intelligence as he attempts to clear his name and protect the agency he still believes in.
